Went out this evening hoping to beat some foul weather that was coming in...... Had some high winds blowing in and watched some deer deep in the woods but none venturing out where I can hunt. ALthough the funniest part of the evening was yet to come. About a half hour before sundown I heard something behind me a peered around and here come two coons. Now I am hunting on the ground and these fella's get about ten foot from me and keep coming. They don't even see me.NOw, coon isn't in yet and I really didn;t want to share where I was with a couple of coon. So I let loose of an arrow right in front of them   :archer:   Craig

I'd say that 10' is plenty close for those critters.
When I was 13-14 years old I worked for a guy with a bait shop. He wanted a coon for a pet. I went fishing early one morning at the local boat harbor and spotted one in a 50 gal. trash can. I got a piece of plywood and some concret blocks and went and got my boss. You should have seen the blood-hair-fur fly! He finally got him in a gunny sack.
He took him to the bait shop and put him in a cage. After a while the coon got out, and ate just about everything in the shop.

PS-I picked worms for him also. Got $5 for a gallon of them in a ice cream container.
