Living in Oregon, it can get down right wet during the late season hunt. I picked up a can of Johnson's Paste wax to put on some of my leather and was wondering if this would work well on my bows to help further water resist them? The main thing I want to know is, will this hurt the finish in any way?

Oregonians, got any suggestions?

No Sir it wont ,I have been useing on my guitars for years with no problems.I also used it on my flint lock rifle and my cap locks too..It even works great on leather goods too.

A and H recomends it for thier bows and i have used it on blued revolvers for years, really helps when your gun gets wet in your holster.

Wannabe...yes it will protect your bows wood and fibergalss both no problems...J&J is one of the best paste waxes ever...but here's another trick you may want to try with it sometime.During the hunting season you can actually rub a thin layer of the J&J paste wax onto the back glass.Let it dry to a haze and do not buff it off until you get back from hunting. The haze works as a dull finish to cut down on limb shine...just use a little fresh wax to buff off the dry wax....bowdoc

Thanks everyone for the info. Looks like I will be doing a little maintenance this evening. Going to put that paste wax on all of my bows now. Appreciate all the help.
