Well i went on my first trad hunt the other day and i had a blast.
Didnt see or here one deer but i did get a show at 7:30 am about 100 yds away saw a bobcat wide open after a rabbit!! Those things can fly! Thats the first one ive seen in the woods.
Saw a couple scrapes and some monster tracks but no bambi.
Had a great time though.

That must have been pretty cool to see! That bobcat very well may be the reason you didnt see any deer! I have been hearing some big cat like noises in the woods I hunt. Did it make any hissing noises or anything when it pounced on the rabbit?
Its not the size of the animal you hunt that matters. Its how you hunt the animal.

Sounds to me your in the right place. Welcome to the trad world where there is more to the hunt than a BBD (Big Buck Down)  :) . Although that is kinda nice to have once in awhile!!!   ;) . Good Luck with the rest of your season.

Never heard any hissing or any noises. Ole peter cotton tail was giving him a run for his money last i saw. LOL!
Can't say i didnt feel a little uneasy after that event.Im not a big fan of cats.

That reminds me of the time I seen a bobcat putting a stalk on 3 does that were below my stand.  Just like you would see a house cat stalk a mouse.  It was too cool.

Sounds like fun.  :D  I see something weird and entertaining literally every time I've gone hunting so far. I'd guess that it's the same for other trad hunters as well.
