Nice deer Pete, must be the deer are bigger in Jersey, that's a fine looking animal    Tell Tom never mind the ducks, he needs to get his mug on this thread with a nice buck

Hey Mike C,

I was only up at WCR in zone 6 one time with John L for a morning hunt. I haven't been back since but I have been going to a small private spot I have permission to hunt over in Chester zone 9. I haven't pulled the string back on anything yet but I have a feeling that is only a matter of time. Why don't you have John give you my cell number maybe we can get together for a hunt up there in WCR.

Larry,

I should be seeing John on Sunday if he makes it to this months shoot/meeting.  Sounds like a good idea hooking up for WCR.
Big deer in Chester give it time, although now is the time to be in the woods.

Good luck...Mike

Missed a big fat doe last night. Got stupid and watched the arrow instead of keeping my eye on the spot.  Oh well, I still have some time.  Thanks for the tip Sharpster, lots of deer around that place.

Well bentpole has yet to connect. Been having some  action actually had a basket racked 6 point on Larry's private piece at 15 yards broadside and couldn't thread one threw the sapplings next to me. Came right in to the grunt tube. That was last day of Regular season. Bucky, Steve and myself hunted today.Bucky saw a spike and a doe  no shots. Steve got made by the spike and I went where no man dares  to go and saw NOTHING! Tremendous sign all over rubs, scraps, poop. Deer just not moving with the warm weather. TICKS all over again! Watch out! Steve had to have one dug out by his wife last night. He thinks he picked it up scouting Sunday morning with me. His wifes a nurse. She called the Doctor and Steve went to the drug store took the four pill presription  pack. I wish there was some acorns around. Think positive! Nice doe Pete and nice buck  Jim Congrats!

Heading down to bowhunt Jersey rest of this week. Should be fun, bucks are starting to move and show themselves more...just wish the weather would turn a bit nasty...like cold rain or snow. Meeting up with the other 2 Tri State Terrors at 5am...and will be in the woods early. Keep the faith Stiffrod....it will only get better.

Have been hunting in the Assunpink WMA just off rte 571 Clarksburg and have only seen one deer so far. I'll try a few other locations in the WMA and hope to at least see them. I'm using a Rancho Safari ghillie suit and my bow is a Tsunami 52# @ 28 from McCullough. Anybody else hunting there???? By the way, I started hunting late into the regular season.........

pdk25

I hunt there a bit.  Haven't been there for a couple of weeks.  Have they cut the corn yet.  If they have you need to get deeper in the woods.  Until they cut the corn they are hanging out a the field edges all day.

Deadbolt

i hunt assunpink often and like pat said ubntil they cut that corn they hold in the fields and in the thickets bordering them...there is so many fields though them deer dont ever have to leave.

they most hold int he neighboring houses back yards.

once them fields are cut they will be non existant in them woods of in the thickest nastiest stuff you can find on that property due to such a high volume of small game hunters...
