Since the Simmons company let me down I have to find something else to shoot. I like the width of these heads and the weight(They are similar to the Land Sharks). How do they fly do they make any noise? Any info would be appreciated.

I haven't had any durability issues, but i also haven't used them that much.  They seem well made to me, but I don't have the long track record of my Zwickeys.

I to like the way they come with a uniformed bevel, and I like the stainless metal.  They are easy to put an edge on, and seem to hold an edge well.

I've never had any noise issues.

I have had two break, one went through a target and hit some plywood I was using for a back stop and the other hit the ground when I missed a deer.
Overall I like the heads they fly well and are very sharp. I would definitely check them over good after shooting them.
Personally I am going to stick with Zwickeys and Magnus so I don't have to worry about pieces of broadhead when I am gutting.

I bought some to try because of there size and the fact they were stainless.None made it to the woods.Noisy and tend to plane at higher speeds.Lost blades in foam rubber target butts.Just not in the same class as a Simmons as far as I am concerned in durability,flight or function. jmo

I shoot 'em....no problems.  They tuned very easy, fly great, no noise etc.  I have shot them into a Cabelas broadhead target a ton of times and they have held up...and get back to razor sharp with very little effort.

I use them from time to time , never had a planing issue and dont realy care if they make noise , the deer jumps the string noise long before the sound of the broadhead gets there, heck of alot easier to sharpen than the Simmons.
They do make a nice big hole. I wouldnt recommend shooting them into foam with the bleeder blades , save those for hunting.

I have used them off and on for over ten years. Never had a problem with planing as long as my arrows are tuned correctly. Never had a durability problem only thing that ever broke was the bleeder blade a couple of times on animals (got a nasty note from my butcher.

Question though, since I'm new to trad.


Is his penetration typical of trad gear?  I know the arrow broke on the specific video mentioned but I've watched 3 videos...two of them I know he used sasquatches on and the penetration was apparently plenty but nothing like I'm used to with compound.

On deer you should have no problum.  I'm somewhere between 2o-25 deer with a longbow and 65% would be a good guess on complete arrow passthru (no arrow in deer at all) and 90% with 2 holes.  
 With my current setup a 54# recurve and Silverflame broadhead I am 100% on passthru.  But this is only so far on 3 deer, a pig, and a ram.
 Another factor for me is the fact that I am fairly high in trees and like to shoot deer right below me.  A ground hunter that takes deer at 20 yards will have a much higer rate then me.
 With the larger heads like the Sasquatch 1 9/16" cut you are going to lose peneration.  If you don't use a fairly heavy bow I would advise using a smaller cutting broadhead.

The whistle is from the bleeder slot not filled. I put in the bleeder, use a little fletch tite to hold em in place (my biggest complaint with the head) and the noise will go away.

Ive got em shooting off my Titan with Blazer vanes!! If you get your bare shafts tuned good these heads will fly well. The ones I have gotten spin perfectly right out of the package.

Another good choice among a bunch of really great broadheads that are out there.  

I used them for a year, very impressed with the way they would mount up true. seems they had very tight tolerences in the mfg. process, they are stainless which I liked, always flew true for me and I guess my hearing isnt good enough to hear any noise.I killed a couple deer and a large bear with them and they are a quick killin head. BUT I had several come apart, the main blade would seperate from the feurrel (sp). I called hornes and the said I may getting them to hot mounting, so I used epoxy and still had a couple come apart at the place where the blades attach. when I pulled the head from my bear, the blades stayed in him and the feurrel (sp) stayed on the arrow. But this also happened on block targets. other than that I liked the head. And maybe I got some bad ones, but A big magnus is within 1/16 of being the same width and I believe a lot more solid head. Personally I went back to zwickey deltas.
