Who uses the Buck Fever pre/post  or Rut synthetic scents, and what results/reactions have you had with it?
This time of year, is it too early for the rut formula? please describe your method of application...

Bonebuster

I have used Buck Fever synthetic scents in the past, with good results. BUT...
I read about using diluted ammonia, and have good results with that also.

One part ammonia, two parts distilled water.

My personal opinion is that most of the situations
I run into, no scent is best of all.

Where I am in Michigan, we have a ton of hunting pressure, and the deer have seen it, and smelled it all. ANYTHING out of the ordinary puts them on alert before curiosity gets a chance.

I took my 2 biggest bucks to date using their products during the rut in and near established scrapes.  That was a few years ago, but still have had bucks come into it the last few years, they just were not the shooters I was looking for.  I used the pre rut with the gland formula up until the first week of Nov.  I would drip the pre rut into a scrape, spray the overhead branch with the gland formula and used the gland formula on rubs in the area.  During the rut I did the same thing but with the rut formula.  I found that if I used it for about the last two weeks of October into November, I had the best luck.  PM me if you have any other questions.

I always put a bit of it on my boots--the theory being that it is a neutral masking scent, but I am not sold on any of the "hot steamin' stuff out there. I've had more deer spook than anything else.

I used their stuff for two seasons with no results, good or bad, whatsoever.

I used them for three seasons... I know the forehead scent (used on mock rubs) works like a charm.. I had bucks tearing up trees all over the bluff close to where I made my mock rubs...
I also had bucks scraping within 40 yards of my doctored scrapes.. never did kill one of those bucks...

I would use them again. But I've went to a "no scent is the best scent" method. I've never had much luck hunting scrapes anyway. Bedding and food always works for me.

Good luck out there.
