nock locator brass nock or tie on is there pros and cons will a member explain please or is it personal pref ?

RightTrailWrongTime

I prefer to tie mine on above and below and they are adjustable too, haven't had a brass nock for years since I discovered the tie on method. Do a search on here I think there have been a few posts in the "how to" section. If not I can try to explain my method. Good luck!

2nd for tie on.
Its easier on my tab.

JRY309

I prefer tie on nocks, been doing that for 15 years since I started shooting traditional. It just looks more traditional to me.Easier on tabs,no chance of something metal scratching my bow and it just looks better.

Jwilliam

Tie on !!! Not as hard on my gloves.

Tie on for me, too. The metal ones are hard on gloves and bow finish (rubbing against the bow when unstrung). Easy and cheap, too.

I'm slowly switching all my bows to the tie on nocks. Easy to install, looks better, less wear on shooting glove.

I'll add another vote for tie on. I use B50 for my nock point. Some use dental floss. I have used artificial sinew, but the B50 seems to last longer.

Chub look in the how to section.I think there is one on the ajustable one in there.

SCATTERSHOT

Chub, just tie an overhand knot on the string where you want the nocking point. Then continue with one on the opposite side of the string. Repeat until you have the size nocking point you like, and finish with a square knot to keep everything together. trim the ends and carefully melt the ends with a lighter. Some guys use a drop of superglue on the finished nocking point, but it's not really necessary.

Good luck!

I use dental floss - dentist gives me some every 6 mos. Figure I got to find something to use it on.  I over rap and build it up just like serving a string, then back wrap to tie it off.  A little fletch tite and I am good to go for several months.  :goldtooth:
