Question for bowyers?

i have an old black widow longbow and the finish is blotchy and bubbly

questions is id like to sand it down and re finish it..can i use Teak Oil?  iv finished shotgun stocks with it but wondered if i could finish a laminated bow with it?

Teak oil is a penetrating finish that builds up in the outer layer of wood to protect it.  It won't do a thing for fiberglass though, so you're stuck using a varnish of some sort.
