If it clotted up you might have just hit meat.  The deer might heal up just fine.

I would sure check with your Fish and Game about using some kind of light aid being that you can not see red. If you can prove it I wouldn't think they would have a problem with it. They don't want any wounded or dead animals around either.

At the very least limit your self to day light shots only and there shouldn't be any trouble than. Sorry you lost her    :(   just learn from it. Most of us have made some tuff shots and been on poor blood trails but hang in there.

I think it was best to lwave ger over night. I have had temps go down to only 50-55 degrees and found them late the next morning when it was approaching 70 degrees, meat was fine. Sorry ya did not find her, but in nature nothing goes to waste. Shawn

Use hydrogen peroxide in a spray bottle. It will foam up releasing O2 if it is blood.

Unfortunately it happens to all of us at some point in our life long passion of hunting. As Shawn said, Nature leaves nothing to waste. As they say, get back on the horse and ride it or in this case get back out in the woods and get it done!

happened to me last year... its a tough deal to go thru...you took a good shot and a fair effort in finding her... the guys are giving you good advice.... keep your head up and go make venison... if she doesnt make it...then just remember nothing goes to waste in nature... good luck.

Three blades dosen't always mean more blood. More blood doesn't always mean you'll find the deer. No blood doesn't mean you won't. Where you thought you hit, isn't always where you hit. Sometimes a bad hit results in a short tracking job. Sometimes a good hit, looked like a bad one.

Point is, things happen so fast you can't always be sure. Once you make the shot, it's your job to do the best to recover the animal. There's some good tracking tips given above. If you do that and still don't find it, as said, nothing goes to waste so get back on the horse and keep on riding.

The bottom line will always be, a well placed razor sharp broadhead is what will give you the best results.
