I have always found the Phantom 125's to be plenty sharp out of the package. Sounds luke you got a bad set of blades. I'd contact Muzzy. They will make them good.

Got a complete pass thru last weekend on a doe @ 19 yards out of 51 longbow. Mine(phantom 125s) were sharp right outa the pack. didn't do anything to them but screw em on.

I use the 220 heads, with the bleeders removed ( hard to do) so they are 200 grains.  they were sharp, but not harp popping.  I used my KME and they are sharper, will cut a rubberband real easy!  They still are not scalpel sharp  and I do not know if I can ever get them that way, I seem to struggle with getting stainless super sharp.

Ron from KME puts the blade in a piece of 2x4 then gets the bleeders out.  Know matter how you do it, it seems to be difficult and dangerous.  they seem like a great head, but I think next year I will try something else as these are kinda scary to work on.

Call Ron and ask him to explain.  he is better than me.

I've used them for 2 years now and I like them.  I've had excellent results with them and they are very well designed/made in my opinion.  The bleeder blade is tricky to get out but it can be done.  Just be very careful.  In my experience the heads came sharp but I still touched them up with a ceramic stick to get them even sharper.  I've found them a little tricky to re-sharpen after shooting animals/hitting the ground since the steel seems to be quite hard.  I'm surprised yours were that dull.  I consider them to be an excellent head and being stainless means no rusting which is nice.

For many years I used Zwickey 2 blade Eskimos with my "contraption bow" and while they penetrated great and were durable they did not leave very good blood trails when I felt they really should have.  In fact most of the time the blood trails were pretty much non-existent on good hits and the arrows were still hair popping sharp.   Having switched to the Phantoms and having had the results and excellent blood trails I have with them,  I will not be going back to the 2 blade heads anytime soon for the animals I hunt.  Good hunting, Rick.
