i need some input on my snuffer heads...i sharpen them with my diamond stone but they just don't seem to be getting that feel ya get when ya know its sharp.any input is appreciated greatly.

10 mil bastard file...25 strokes per side, 2 blades at a time, applying pressure rear to front. Then give them a few strokes on ceramic sticks, razor sharp.

I don't think there is anybody who has sharpened more Snuffers than Roger or his sons...

I have to agree with Steve O. Roger showed me how to do it years ago on a grinder, two blades at a time. Finish it off on a piece of leather. Its fast and very effective.

They will never have the sharp feel of a knife blade or 2 bld.  head because the angle of the sharpened blade is not the same BUT that does not mean that they are not sharp!!! Put them thru a deer or thru a piece of meat and you will see they will KILL!!

Sorry SS, I must disagree with you on that one. The more you run the Snuffers acrossed the leather strop in the tamer kit, the sharper they get. I do mine now about 50 to 60 times and I will shave my face with them. I can't BUY a broadhead as sharp as these are. Once you get the angle from the tamer file, then just use the leather strop. Pretty simple. I used to run my thumb down the blade before I started doing this but now I won't even think about it. Straight cut on contact.

cant wait for it to get here now...kinda used to them being dull feeling . i tried the bastard and a very fine diamond stone but still not feeling like a razor whitch is the only way i'll be satisfied with them.....thanks to all  

I use the X-Block, but also strop on a thick piece of leather after, and they POP the hair off my arm!!!

Broadhead Sharpener, similar to the Tamer.
Will this work with the Snuffer's ? Or better off getting the Tamer.

What I have found works best with Snuffers is this:
I use a fairly large, flat diamond stone. It is about 2" by 6" -- and I think just about any kind of sharpening this size would work, but I like how the diamond stones get the job done with little maintenance. I lay the Snuffer down flat on the stone with two blades touching the stone. I give the blade 15 rubs on the stone pushing the blade forward. Turn the blade to get the next two surfaces flat and do the same thing. Turn the blade to get the last two edges flat and do the same thing. Repeat the process above, but this time push the blade forward 10 times on each of the three sides -- then 9 times -- then 8 times -- etc.
When you get down to one time per side, repeat the one time per side a few times turning the blade to a new side after every rub using less pressure on the blade each time.
With this "countdown" method the Snuffers are shaving sharp at the end of the process - AND - it takes no skill other than the ability to count.

i assume what does the trick is changing the degree of angle.i can also take them to work and harden them with a method i cannot disclose,any thoughts on that being good or bad ? man if they made these things out of plow steel they would last forever and talk about staying sharp!

Yes changing the angle is the main thing, making the edge thin.
