All things being equal, between the three options which shaft material would  absorb the most energy from the bow and shoot the quietest?

1) wood
2) heavy FOC carbons
3) carbons with heavy weight tubes

Any opinions would be welcome.

I don't shoot them but the answer is wood, hands down.                                Grant

Wood will be the quietest as far as bangin' around noise, the heavier arrow will shoot the quietest and get the most energy out of the bow.

Just starter shooting wood, was shooting CX 350's. It's like they're not even there when I shoot, there is that much difference!

No question and they fly great too.

Wood, but I challenge you to hear the dufference between well-tuned wood and well-tuned, heavy carbons.  You'd have to have a very good meter to pick it up.
