if it is sumpin you might be interested in there is a very good video in the market.  _Masters of the Barebow Vol 2_.  Ty Plefrey (US world class string walker) takes you thru the set up and form discussion.  show how to set up and use the bow for hunting.  Alos has Larry Yein, Lauren Van Cleave (I personally saw him shoot a 9" groups at 60 yds (6 arrows) then put one of his naked shafts right smack in with the other 6 arrows.  now that is bare shafting.  it was all with a 62" recurve

heee heee ya thought I was gonna let ya off the hook didn'tcha.  Oh no I heard what ya said.....ya but I ain't gonna shoot a bow with all 'em springy, twisty, buttony stuff on it...not me!   :)

ok ok ya gorilla armed, knucle dragging troglodyte.......ok how about this

 http://sites.google.com/site/stringwalkerbowhunter/boblee

bob lee 60" recurve.  ya can see the 20yd crawl mark under the nocking point marks.  from hold on the 20 yd crawl I have to hold under 6" at 10 yds, 3-4" at 15 yds to hit the bee.  the group here was shot at 15 yds.  I haven't figure out the 25yd and 30 yds hold over yet

btw I didn't show it but the fletch on those arrows are the rain vanes.  I head after they are breakin ya can use them off the shelf.  I guess ya can.  arrow is 460gr off 49# on my fingers.  pretty quick.

ok I am through now   :)

'cept for one more comment:)  one of my all time favorite string walking recuvres is Horne's 58" (yep 58") maybe called the Brush bow. any way it is a recurve with a bow bolt.  I has the tolkin came lams.  Mark limbs have got torsional stablity better than any non-carbon limb I have string walked.  the reason I didn't show it here is that it is not cut as far passed center as I'd need to stringwalk it holding the bow verticle.  ya have to tune the arrow pretty radically to get things going down the center line for a stingwalker.  i think thatmay have been due to the bow bolt.  would not want it too thin around it.

With all do respect and joking aside sir, I have found this to be very educating. In all my readings this is the first time I've come across this style of shooting.

Very interesting stuff indeed!    :)

Glad you threw this in here Rusty, humor and all. I have been stringwalking most of my life. There was a time that I didn't think it was cool especially around friends when I was younger. I am in my 50's now and was taught it by a feller that is in his 80's and still shooting. This happened about 45 years ago. Some people condemn it but all I know is that it puts meat on the table. With my anchor it is easy to do 10,20 and 30 yard shots with extreme accuracy.

Well hey, Thanks for coming along and the kind words.  I like to promot string walking every once in a while espcially before deer season.  someone might give it a try and like it.  it is getting alot harder to find stringwalking competition.  Heck fire I winning a room full of throphies and medals.....cause I'm the only one left....and I ain't that good  :)
