Reading thru the new WOOD magazine this evening there is a cool article on a full size car made of wood.  To the cool part.  They show a pic (see below) of the leaf springs being laminated, OSAGE ORANGE was the wood of choice. Anyway the caption on the photo says "Borrowed from Bow-Makers" and states below the photo "Bow-makers prize this tough wood for it's strength & flexibility".  I would say they think it is tough.  They say they are 400 inch-lb. leaf springs, that's alot of strain put on the wood...........
Thought it was a nice plug for us.

He he he!!!! Cool.

Wonder what the draw weigh on that puppy will be?

I've come to believe that the keys to shooting well for me are good form, trusting the bow to do all the work, and having the confidence in the bow and myself to remain motionless and relaxed at release until the arrow hits the mark.

I wonder if they will have any "spring follow" with their finished product.

that's cool but I wonder what the point is? I find it hard to believe that wood (yes even Osage) can out perform modern steel alloys in this application. There has to be more to the story.

If the idea takes off, forget getting wood for another Osage bow.

Brent, do a Google search for "Splinter wooden car"  Neat stuff.  Done basically just to see if it could be done.
