I am shooting a Dwyer Dauntless 50# @ my draw of 27". I want to build some carbon arrows that will weigh around 600gr. I am looking at the GT Trad full length with 225gr point and some weight inside.
Does this sound like a good setup? I have never shot carbons. Help me if you can.
Thanks
Tom

I like your idea, but would put the weight right up front with 100 grain brass insert and a good heavy point to get to the 600.
I've shot both the 3355s' and 5575s' with success.

I'm afraid if I put 325gr up front they won't be stiff enough.

I have the 3555's and put rope in them and 190 gr. points and they come in at about 700 gr.  If you use cotton rope, if you use nylon braided it will be closer to 600 gr.  You'll get some variance in total grains, but not a significant amount.  Plus the arrows are alot quieter when you drop them or smack them on something.
I saw bambi too, I got over it.

Here is what I have come up with.

GT 35/55 Black Shaft w/ 5grn per inch wt tube: 383 grains.

100 grain Brass Insert

Nock Adapter w/ 5/16" nock: 22 grains

3 5" Feathers: 11 grns

Total wt without point  516 grains.

This number is from using a 30" Shaft.

I must add that my draw length is 28" so in order to stiffen the spine, I ended cutting mine back. The 5575s were cut to 29 and the 3355s to 30 1/2.
