Howdy Folks....I haven't posted much lately, new job has been crushing me. But I got out this morning, and had a nice wide rack buck come through....I came to full draw but my brain was saying "no" so I held off. He was a great buck, and would have been my best ever with a bow. Maybe tonight he will pause in the right spot! ;0)  :)

Very good.. Taking an iffy shot is not worth taking. Getting close is good enough. I always tell myself that one of these days "it will work out"...

Hey Tim - I hope your season is going well so far. Ron is still up at ShrewHaven, he was trying to fill a bear tag, and he and Nancy are deer hunting now. I am betting no bear, or I would have heard from him by now. Cell phone coverage is almost nonexistant up there.

Keep shootin' them Shrew's!   ;)

Roger,

Well done. Like I've said before; I've never once regretted not dropping the string.

O.L. Adcock

Well done. At least you know he's still out there. I passed a shot on a 400 class bull at 30 yards a few years ago, just a little too far plus I "thought" he would come closer..He did but no clear shot. I still replay that picture over and over but I wouldn't do anything different....O.L.

I like that. Good words.

Good choice Roger.  At least you know where he hangs out now.  You don't want to end your season this early anyway, right?
I should have killed a doe thursday but it's hard to shoot with my head up my butt, guess I need to practice that shot.

Good job, the right shot will come.

i did the same thing last season, I have not killed a deer with bow or gun yet and passed on a perfect broadside shot at a fork horn last season because the shot did not feel right, you did good

Roger, good to see you here again, I haven't seen you all summer and was wondering how you were doing. You definitely did the right thing. Have a great season!  :campfire:

Hey Jim - How have you been? Compton was the only shoot I made it to this summer. I don't think I've seen you since K-Zoo?

Guru, he was coming through a thicket, and when he was open he was moving, and when he was still there were too many saplings about...there was a moment when I thought I had a shot, but I had doubt nagging at me. I know if my brain is thinking of something other than that single hair behind his shoulder, things aren't right.
