Yesterday here in NJ all the TV weather folks were calling for rain all day with thunder storms. I didn't hunt in the morning because I listened to the pro weather forcasters and sat on my duff looking outside where no rain had fallen all night and all day. It was just foggy.

I only get to hunt on Saturdays because of my new job's hours. No hunting on Sundays here in good old NJ.

So I head off to a little spot I have permission to hunt with my son. We get there and head in the woods checking the wind several times before making a decision where we were going to set up. The wind, what there was of it was from the North East. We set up in a blow down and waited for the show to start. We saw 11 deer, one was a small buck with a fork on one side and a spike on the other. He past by up wind of us at 35 yards never knew we were there. The other 10 deer passed on the same trail or another about 50 yards away.

It made for an interesting afternoon. Now I just have to make another move to get closer to these trails and I can have a chance to make some meat.

Glad I didn't blow my whole day because of what the weather man says.

Should have been out all day Larry. Every thing was moving including other trad gangers     :knothead:    Bamboo and southpaw came walking right through my spot around mid day. What a coinsindense.   Had a few bears around too.
I will give thanks to the LORD because of his righteousness and will sing praise to the name of the LORD Most High.

Consider yourself lucky.  It was HOT and HUMID here in NC.  Didnt see anything except some Big mosquitos.  I'm hunting a new piece of land that I havent figured out the deer yet(work time and family time hasnt allowed that yet).

BUT, It was still nice being in the deer stand!

I am considering myself very fortunate. Thanks to my friend and mentor Paul for introducing me to the land owner where I've been seeing all these deer for the past couple weekends. I've only been hunting it on Saturdays in hopes of not burning it out too quickly.

Next Saturday the rest of the state opens up.  Jerry maybe we could hit the WMA in zone 6 not too far from my home with a couple other Trad Gangers.
