Anyone splice feathers?

I'd like to try it and was wondering how YOU do yours.  Oh yeah, let's see some pix too!

Tom,
I remember a thread or two that dealt with peoples pictures of their arrow work, hard to believe that they can get them that good.  It could have been on the other traditional archery site.  You might want to check them out...   I do it, but am not good at it and I don't really like to do it, maybe cause I am not good at it....

Measure each segment to length and cut slightly longer than needed.

Make sure the edges are square and flush with the last vein of the segment to be spliced. and trim to finished length.

Join the segments by stroking the veins together.(locking there natural Velcro) This insures they will line up and fit properly.

Place the segments in jig clamp and realign as needed.

Glue to shaft of arrow.

I like splicin em, but it is a lot of work.  Nuttin fancy yet, but maybe this winter I'll try for the Al Kidner look..
