After spending hours and hours trying to get an arrow to fly correctly and almost coming to believe I had been cursed and not able to shoot a bow anymore, I thought, "I'll try one last thing.  I'll put a nock above and below the arrow."  First shot, Bingo!!

I had been shooting high , high and higher... Adjusted nock point up and down all day until frustration started coming over me. Then, finally I put a nock below the arrow & it cleared things right up.  I shoot 3 Under so this may be a culprit... But can someone please explain this to me???  

I don't know why it worked, but it did...

I had a similar problem and fixed it the same way.

I think upon release that the arrow may slide down the string thus throwing your shot off.

you were probably putting too much pressure on the nock

Never had a problem shooting split.arrow always stays right between the fingers.

I have been using two tie-on nock points for around 15 years.I just like it and have always done it that way.I've shot other guys bows with one nocking point,have no trouble with them but like my two nocking points.And I prefer to tie them on,to me it just looks more traditional then the brass nocking points.Personal preference for me.

How do you tie on a nocking point?

I also shoot 3 under and use two nocks.  (Althought I shoot 3 under, I honestly only use the middle and ring finger to hold the string.)

I have no logical reason why it works... I just accept and move on.

P.S.  I've used the 2 nocks on both recurves and longbows... and it didn't matter if the bow was tillered for 3 under or not.

I've always done it too! Why, because that first ole Bear bow was set up like that.. So that was my normal..

I Wrap it tight (sorta like tying a fly.) I just tie  knot afte 8-10 wrap and a dab of superglue... Then do it again till It seems bout right... My tie-on nocks are smaller than the crimp ons.. But nmore than half size...

I shoot split finger and had a similar issue, until I realized my nocks although snap action were a bit loose, so I was putting extra pressure to keep the arrow tight to the nocking point.. I tied a lower one on, with just a tad of clearance between them and the occasional poor flight problem went away.
Although S2's method reminds me a bit of Boy Scout knot tying class, and is a bit more technical than others..
"I really like it" It makes a much cleaner nock than others I have tried and no  glue required.
