ohh what could have been (skull pic)

did a little scouting today and found the skull of a young buck, looks to be a 1 1/2 year old by the look of the teeth, not much wear, all intact and still in good shape. nice 4 point with great base. bet he would have been a slammer in a year or two! makes ya wonder how he got to where we found him.

found him on a ridge just off a main road, could have made it to the mountains after getting hit, he definitly picked a beautifull place to die.
i kept the skull and 2 leg bones after giving a token of thanks for them. the leg bones will go to a good friend who is a knife maker and he will honor this buck by making a couple beautifull knives. might keep the skull at my mothers where i hunt from or give it as a gift to someone who loves the mountans and the wild animals that roam there.
