Larry left for his back-country bivy elk hunt in Colorado this morning.  I'm leaving for moose in the Wrangell Mountains on Thursday the 11th.  Larry returns in about 10-12 days.  I'll be back at the end of the month.  As an aside, I had hoped to conduct a daily blog from moose camp but the Inmarsat satellite providing broadband coverage of Alaska didn't launch in time.  Maybe next year!

Meanwhile the shop will still be running at full speed.  Everyone in the shop will be cranking out bows and Dan will be answering the phone and filling orders, so business will go on as usual.  If you have any questions or want to place an order Dan can take care of you.

I just want to wish all of our friends and fellow stickbow hunters a heart-felt good luck this fall.  Stay safe, keep the wind in your face, get close, and shoot at a single hair!

Good luck Jonh.  Have a great hunt and stay safe!!

Don't worry Mike.  I'm going to leave the new #2 P&Y bull for you.

John, good luck to you and Larry.  By the way, what bows are you shooting?

Have a safe and successful trip John!  Brier and I have another month before we can get after the deer.  We have been chasing squirrels to keep the edge off.

John, Larry will be shooting his standard aluminum-riser camo-coated 64" longbow. I'll be taking a couple of my new mad-scientist prototypes along with me.

Chris, good for you and Brier!  I hope your squirrel hunting and later deer hunting seasons are both successful.

Bjorn

Have a safe hunt and bring back lots of memories!!

John Havard

Thanks Bjorn.  One of these days we'll have to get you and your son up to Alaska to chase moose!

Pat, as I mentioned in my first post I had planned to conduct a daily live blog from a VERY remote part of Alaska on this moose hunt.  Unfortunately BGAN satellite coverage that would enable that to take place isn't in place in time.  I'm taking a video camera along as well as two digital  cameras and a high-quality digiscoping setup.  Lots of video and camera gear and I hope to use it to good advantage this year.  I took a few videos last year and my only regret was not using the video camera even more.  Trying to video an encounter with a bull (probably while hunting solo) will be a new adventure for me.
