While in my stand out in Wyoming, I had a mangy coyote pup come to water....as he left, I saw him jump, and heard a strange to me noise....turns out it was a Prairie Rattler!!! I got a couple of live pics of the snake, then climbed down to investigate further. The snake was 30-36 inches live, I figured 4-5 feet away was good nuff fer a head shot with me Widder!!! He stretched out nice to dry! Some good pattern to him, from the underneath side of the skin...The Rancher asked us to please dispose of any snakes around his stands and waterholes!!!

And one bonus pic of some fresh, grilled antelope tenders and a piece of loin!!! DANG that stuff's GOOD!!!!

Did you eat the snake? I hear they're really tasty.

The most frightening thing you are likely to encounter in nature is yourself.

Rattlesnake is some of the best meat out there...just a little tricky to get all the meat off those bones.  Some of the best things to eat are tough to get at though...crawfish, crabs, rattlesnake, oysters...you get the picture!!!

It's not fair seeing a heaping plate of food when it's still 40 minutes until lunchtime...  :)

Brad,

You in a snakeskin loincloth - I can envision a 12 month calendar in your future.

Killdeer

Skin is too short for that, isn't it?  :rolleyes:

Long, long afterward, in an oak I found the arrow, still unbroke;
And the song, from beginning to end, I found again in the heart of a friend.
