I'm also sold on the wool silencers that Apex Predator mentions in his great how-to thread.

I like fur silencers. It's pretty much an asthetic thing for me, my longbows are pretty quite to start with. Have you tried adjusting your brace height? I've only owned one bow that I ever thought was excessively loud, and it turned out that brace height was the major culprit.

TRAP

heavy arrows and beaver, muskrat or mink string silencers.

I used to use fur (mink, beaver, etc) but a few years ago my wife made me some yarn puff balls. I played around with the diameter and then added some regular felt onto my limbs under the string on the belly side of the bow and have been happy with the results.

Bill, I have a set of Bow Hushes I am not going to use. Send me your address and I'll get them out to you.
I shoot a Longbow and use the Hush Puppies. They silenced my Bow.

I like the beavers for their looks and performance. I'd have to measure again to remember exactly where I placed them-8" down on a 61" string sound right? My dead animals won't provide any feedback.    :bigsmyl:
