My visit to the shop last summer mirrored this one.  First rate operation and even better folks.

VTer

Was there a few years ago when a bunch of us VTers went out to visit and hunt with our buddy Vern (the guy w/ ear muffs in the last pic). I got a personal tour when I dropped him off at work so I could use his truck to go bowhunting. It was quite impressive, although I had imagined a much bigger place. I guess I was just used to that aerial picture of the Bear plant in Florida. I got to meet Ken Beck that day as well and look at a huge deer rack that he had just taken in Kansas. That really floored this VTer. MO is a nice area for sure. Super nice folks everywhere we went. I wish the Fred Bear Museum had been in Springfield at the time. Definately would have made a visit there as well.

Whoops, just looked at that picture again, I guess he's wearing a phone headset.

Can you believe I lived 30 minutes from those guys for 5 years and never made it over to the shop.  I thought about going over several times, but never made it.  :banghead:

I just figured out my new fantasy when my better half finally gives in and lets me get my BMW R1200GS Adventure.

Travel around the country and visit bowyers.  Widow, Great Plains, Morrison, RER, Dryad, etc.

The divorce lawyer can't cost too much. Right?

I like the clamps they use in the one photo.

Here's a pic of my recently camo dipped widow. I think they look pretty excellent. Maybe the widow boys are starting up the camo dipping option again?

Hey guys, those 3 holes in the limbs are for the jig that holds them for machining.

Oh yeah, that's why the newer models have the phenolic on the back side of the limb, cosmetic.

Cool.  Its great that such a well known company is still small enough to let you tour.
The season gave him perfect mornings, hunter's moons and fields of freedom found only by walking them with a predator's stride.

I live about 3 hours from there. Went there in 2007 and ordered a new bow. Very friendly people and you can shoot all you want.
