If someone has the time, could you please post a pic of what padded loops look like.  I have never used padded loops before, but decided to give it a try with my latest string order.  Nice string, but the loops don't look any different than any of my other strings.  Not sure what to look for.

Padded loops are just when you add a couple of extra strands of string added to the end before twisting a string up.Most started padding loop ends because of the smaller diameter of some modern low stretch string materials.I pad the loop ends on my D97,I think it helps to quieten the bow making the loops alittle larger diameter.

i do it on my recurve, it does quiten it down a bit.

it's twisted in as string is made and you cant hardly tell it, If I build a 10 or 12 strand string I usually pad them to a 14by adding 2 to  4 extra strands into the loop.Is only in the twist of the loop which youll see when you get your string Easier on the tips and a bit more quiet as JRY stated

As they said Burnsie. A padded loop looks just like a regular loop. All you do is add about 12" of string to the end of the sting bundle. Then twist them up like you would for any flemish string. It increases the diameter of the loop to "cushion" the tip of your bow some.

If your cheap like me you can use B50 for the padding even on a d97 or TS1 string. No sense using the expensive stuff for padding.
