I have a half dozen goldtip 5570s I'd like to be able to shoot from my 50# bear supermag.  Draw is  27.5", and the arrows are cut right at that if I remember correctly (haven't re-measured them for sure, they are left overs from my compound days).

I know I need a bunch of weight up front to tame the spine, which is fine with me.  The also could benefit from a bit more length.  As the inserts are glued in (not hot melt), does anyone make an adapter that would screw into the insert, have 50-100 grains of weight and be drilled and tapped to accept broadheads/field tips?  Kinda like a blunt with a screw in adapter on the front?

I've looked at 3 rivers and kustom king, no luck.  Any help or leads are appreciated  

I know a few guys who have made weights like that... took a field point, cut off the tip, drilled, tapped, and turned down to the proper weight.  I haven't seen anyone selling them though.

Thanks.  That's what I was thinking last night, if I can't find them, maybe I can get my brother to spin me up some on the metal lathe.

There was a 25g last year or the one before in either Cabelas or Bass Pro that is exactly what you are talking about, but I haven't seen them since - think it was in the x-bow stuff.

Have you thought about using a rod (drill bit) and knocking it out (swing hammer), thread tapping the back of a the insert (or a new one if it got messed up), and using the PDP weight system?

Other choice might be to build your own points (field points & broadheads) by maximizing the point, and using the heaviest insert adapter you can get.

What kind of weight are you talking about to tame these?

Sounds like you are doing this to gain some length more than weight. You would probably be better served selling the ones you have and buying or trading them for one that are longer/better spined for your set-up.

No I hadn't but I may look into it.  It would work if the length is ok.  Thanks.

That's what I've done with the carbon express I'm currently shooting, 100 grain adapters and woodsman for 225 grains up front.

That's the million dollar question.  If you can answer it I'll buy an ice cold beverage or three    

I haven't shot them yet using my current 225 grain field tips, but I'm assuming since they are shorter and stiffer to start, they'll need considerably more.

I haven't drawn them back yet to see, but I'm guessing I will need length to use them.  If what I'm looking for was out their and readily available, it seems like a quick fix.  Your point is well taken though.  Thanks.
