Jason and I are in the finishing process of our bows for this years elk hunt.  I know it's only 3 weeks away but thats the way it is for a bowyer.  You always build yours last.

We got them shooting yesterday and quickly settled for our arrows.  Set up Vapors cut at 30", 4 1/2" P&Y cut feathers, 125 gr WW BH, 100 gr adapters and 60 gr brass inserts.  Did the calculation and it looks like 550 gr arrow, 23.77 FOC.  They fly like a dart!!

We will be shooting some every day now and making a trip to the range to shoot the elk target.

Thanks for the help here with the carbon setup.

Sounds like some good elk mojo!  Your bows, I would guess, are pulling about 55-60 #s?

Actually we are shooting the new curves and are pulling right at 50#.  They shoot like 60#s though.  They put out a lot more punch then an all natural bow that is 10# heavier.

Just came in from shooting 50 grouse shots (golfballs in the yard) with the flu flu's.  If the grouse cooperate . .well we hit the golf balls pretty often and were very close on the other shots.

Dang that curve is fast. . hard for me to hold low enough.
