I just finished the first two of the new half dozen heads I will be hunting with this year. They are similar to the heads I have made in prior years only these are a bit longer to give a better aspect ratio ( 2.6 : 1 ) and have the added weight I was looking for to be used with my longbow . They are just under 1 inch wide with a blade thickness of .039. The blades are single bevel. They are made the same way as prior heads where the blades are pinned to the ferrule.

Link to previous years years heads. The last one shows the pin.

That blade material is m42. It is in the upper 50's for Rockwell hardness.

Rancid Crabtree,
You are awesome!
Now I will need to test those heads out, so 3 should work.  Do you need my mailing address???  :biglaugh:

It doesn't matter how or what you shoot, as long as you hit your target.

I went to the previous post, and saw how you made them.  I just have one question now:  How did you shape the field point?  Did you grind it, or heat it and hit it?
Through education, appreciation;
through appreciation, protection.

Grind it. I mount it on an adapter and spin it against a grinder and then belt sander.
