Spent some time out in my hunting grounds this morning.   Looked to me like the oaks are going to have a very poor crop.  The hickorys were loaded, but not many acorns.   What are you guys finding?

Haven't been out to check the Oaks yet but seems the Walnuts are few and far between this year also. Like You said the Hickory's are loaded.

Seems some of those late frosts were hit and miss on the mast crops.  bretto

Got some here in Pa, Not quite like last year but decent. I started spike fertilizing some of the core trees in my hunting area, big difference. A whole lot cheaper and easier than food plots.Big Ed

Mel,

I don't know about up there but we had 3 days of freezing weather last spring during turkey season that wiped out our oak crop, the white oaks last year and the red oaks this year. The white oaks look good this year but I agree the red oaks do not look too promissing.

Everything looks pretty good here but we have lots of different kinds of oaks. Hickory's are looking good to.

I was just north of you Tracy.  Don't have many white oaks, mostly red on the two properties I was checking.
