What vendor here has good Douglas fir shafts?
Raptor is out right now.
Need 70#-75# spine.

We have them, the Surewood shafts.  You won't find better Douglas Fir, or wood shafts of any kind for that matter IMO.

I can vouch for the Sherwoods, too.  Some of the best shafts I have seen in quite some time.

Very high quality shafts from Surewood.  Very high spines available as well.

I'll throw this in for posterity since it's come up lately.  Yes our selling price on the Surewoods is a little higher...but our shipping fees are about $3 lower than most.  Couple that with the fact we visually inspect every single shaft, and even do a little hand straightening before shipping at no extra charge, they're a bargain!   :D

I have to agree Surewood is the finest shafts and the guys there are great to deal with.

I'm impressed with these shafts! I sat down with my alcohol lamp and straighten tool to get busy and found I didn't have to straighten any.

I can't recall ever buying wood shafts of any kind that I didn't have to straighten.

I'll be buying more real soon, next time through Braveheart Archery.

Thx guys for the recommendation.

I carry the Surewood Fir shafts in my shop. You will be very happy with the Surewood Fir Shafts.  Not only for the straightness but how tuff & consistant they are.  They are top quality.

"...and even do a little hand straightening before shipping at no extra charge..."

Didn't realize there were any Surewoods out there that actually needed any straightening.
The older I get, the better I was.

Doug Knight is part of that Surewood operation...he makes a heck of a recurve too!  I should say that he has made nice recurves...don't believe he does anymore but if you get the chance to buy one used...I would recommend it...not selling mine anytime soon.

Springbuck

Those do look nice!  I've been a longtime fan of fir.  Last batch I bought from Hildebrand was really good, so I can also recommend them,  but the quality of those Surewoods is obvious, even in your photos..

BrianP - Doug is not building bows any more, too bad.  He is the main person doing the work at Surewood.  He knows his stuff.  Ever get a chance to talk with him take the time.  Great guy.
