Got my Field and Stream yesterday and they had a very favorable write up of the ACS bow.  Nice to see some trad action in a mainstream magazine.

I read Field & Stream often maybe I'll go ahead and suscribe now.

Neither Larry or I have seen the article, although we knew that one was going to be written.  What month's issue is it in?

The article says that the bow shoots 10-15 fps faster than any other bow at the same draw weight, and they said the price is around 1200, i thought jeez is 10-15fps worth another 700 bucks compared to my custom takedown. I think ill just stick with my custom for now.  

That's funny, I have a subscription and I haven't seen it...I must have missed it somehow...Is it in the september issue?

I shoot a friends ACS yesterday and was very impressed, Would by one today if i had the cash.

buckeye...it's attributes are much more than its superior speed.  This bow has extremely good manners, points well, hits where you look, very quiet, easy to tune, able to shoot wide range of arrows, looks good, etc, etc. etc...  

...and the guys at A&H provide great customer service.

10-15 fps faster is like shooting a bow that's 10-15# heavier.  When you look at it that way it doesn't seem so insignificant.

I've shot a few ACS bows now and was impressed with all of them.  If only I was born rich instead of so darn good looking!  

My A&H ACS is the best bow I have ever owned or shot.  Congratulations John and Larry, I hope the article show how truly remarkable your bows really are!

After hearing about the article (I haven't seen it yet) I figured it would be followed by a rash of orders and a subsequent increase in build time.  Luckily, I got in just under the wire.  Expecting to get mine next week.  Won't be a surprise.  I've shot a few.  What I like just as much as the increased speed is its stability and quietness, at least as important in my book.  Looking forward to getting it.

I do have one of the new models...shot it today.    

I just let my subscription to Outdoor Life expire. I'd been getting it since the '60s. Just got tired of the new bow reviews of nothing but compounds. They don't know what they're missing!

The ACS design is most often mentioned in regards to FPS....and just how smooth,stable with zero handshock and vibration the design actually is ..is often underated.

Hi Rod! I agree...........the hype was always about the FPS-and to be sure it is there; but without the smooth draw, the pointability, and the quiet, FPS alone would not do the trick.

As mentioned the 10-15fps itself is not what's significant, what it does allow is for you to drop your bow weight. I was shooting around the 50-55# mark, switched to a lighter 45# ACS and now have much more control but no loss of speed (in fact I'd say it's faster that the 50# bows I was shooting).
