Hey Gang, I was wondering , can the Adapter that comes on the Screw in WW's be removed ? Is it Epoxyed, Glued ? has anyone done this. I was wanting to put in Steel Adapter instead to gain weight. I would hate to have to buy the regular ones, as I have a dozen of the screw ins. Thanking this Archery Brain Trust in Advance.  Tu Compadres, Suty

Ola mi amigo!

I believe they're glued in with hot melt. Safest way to try & remove 'em would be to drop them in a pan of boiling water for a few minutes. It should loosen even a good epoxy, but won't behot enough to damage the temper.

The newest ones are glued in with a very high temp epoxy unlike the older ones.  I took some inserts out of some last fall that I had to heat with a torch and get them very hot to get it to loosen.  Tried boiling water trick before that and couldn't get em out which why I resorted to the torch.  I would try the water first incase the are the older ones. dino

Suty, how do the screw ins come as far as spinning true? are they glued on straight? aslo do they have a whistle in flight?

Just wondering, as I have some glue in ones and getting them on straight is a pain and then I have they have whistled in flight.

Great BHd, Loe the way they do just have trouble getting them glued to spin good without taking risk from temper.

Thanks

J

Be careful If they are the new ones like dino said they are clued with a very high temp epoxy. If you go the torch route. Hold on to both insert and head If you get them to hot they can fly apart. What i did an so far as worked. Is heat them with a torch until you see a little smoke from the glue. It stinks, then let it cool a little then twist the adapter an broadhead and it should come right off.
