Hey guys longbow are kinda new to me; anyone have a aluminum arrow suggestion for  a longbow shooting 46@28inches? Just asking in case I can't get these 2016s to fly?

You might try 1916 or 1816.

I would recommend trying Easton 2114's at 29". Jack Howard claimed the the 2114 was the most forgiving shaft in the Easton line. They shoot perfectly out of my 50 to 55 pound @28" Longhorns.

I shoot 1916 (27.5" lg) out of a 45# recurve and with a 125 gr point, the weight is about 440 gns if my memory serves me right.  I just got a 42# longbow and the 1916 seemed stiff, so I'm going to try some 1816's tonight.  Bill is right, I have also shot 2114 out of 50-55# recurves and they flew well.  They may be a tad stiff for 46#, you can use them with a heavier head.  I prefer to stick with xx16 or heavier wall.  IMO they are a little tougher than thinner walled and slightly heavier.

I have the found the 2114 does very well from 45# bows. Arrows are cut 28.5" for my 27" draw and I get great flight.

i would try 1916s full length/125gr head and start trimming back as needed.

I have Easton Legacy 1916 cut to 27", classic index nocks, 5 1/2" shield cut feathers, 145 field tips..
weight of arrows are 453 grains.

Legacy 1916's are 10 gpi so add two more inches to make your 29" arrow and you're around 463 grains.

What is your draw lenght?

I got figured out...short story was the fella thought his draw was 28, but he was closer to 29.5. So his set up 2016's with 128gr tip just weren't fly...turned to be too weak.
I figured it out by bare shaft tuning and slowly changing tip weight till all shafts impacted together. So I said ok..2016s too weak let try 2018s  one inch shorter and same tip weight.
Bamm!! We got great grouping while bare shaft tuning with the 2018s.

I certainly appreciate everyone assistance with shaft recommendations. Don't worry they wont go to waste ..they just get file away for future use...lol

Im shooting 47 lbs @ 28 in. out of a treadway longbow , 2016s cut to 29 in. with 125 grain up front bare shaft perfect for me . I think I would stick with the 2016s and play around with tip weight but 125 - 145 grains  should work perfect for you .

Both my bows are 45# @ 28". My draw is under 28". I am currently shooting 2016's with 3, 5 1/2" shield cut feathers off my Thunderstick Mag with 175 grains up front. Total arrow weight is over 500 grains.I can't remember the exact weight at this time. These fly like darts for me from both my bows. I have chosen the TS Mag to hunt with this season. My Turkey Creek got the job last year.

Larry your set up make sense to me, if this fellas draw woulda been what he had thought I bet his set up woulda worked just fine. But that extra 1 or so of draw bumped up the lbs just enough to make his 2016s fly like crap.
Learned alot from this single experience and really gaining confidence in bare shaft tuning.

Whew!!  I'm glad a few other fellas said 2018's...so as not to get laughed at.

2018's are my "one shaft does it all."  I can shoot them out of my 45# Savannah.....and out of my 51.5# Widow.

I actually switched from the Carbon Express back to these.  They flew nicer....shot tight groups....and hit hard.
