Ray when is it good other then sept.I got about 6 guy's for elk hunting in sept.this year and at least 3 for next year...So when would be a good time besides sept.or feb.in feb I may be able to pull off the Wensel bros.hog gig...but not sure about that yet....keep me posted on good dates for deer and or hogs next year....hell'ya...........bowdoc

Hey Ray, is January fantastic?  Is there a best month for spotting hogs?

The hogs are there...its just a matter of how hard you want to work. In January there are few things to eat other than rooting in the swamp daylight to midday, and then going to the feeders in the evenings before dark.

They sleep in the swamp, usually in cane thickets, and can be stalked up on and shot in their beds or as they leave...all during hte day.

January is a good time to kill pigs. September, October, and May probably rank as the best months of the year, but the rest are great as well. We don't have much time during the year when things would be called S-L-O-W. I would not recommend full moon weekends as great times to hunt.

I have Lin Rhea and son coming October 3,4,5th.

Ray, it will have to be some time in 2009 as I have all of my vacation time and money used up for this year. I will get ahold of you in the future and I know the wife would love to kill a hog with her Thunderstick III.
