Well, I've been bowhunting eastern whitetails for 23 years now. I am blessed with living in a great whitetail deer area of the country but as is life the grass is always greener on the other side and I've dreamed for most of those 23 years of elk hunting out west.  The other day a friend that has been going to Colorado every year since '93 emailed and invited me to tag along.  Well I can't tell you how pumped up I am about it.

We are leaving in about a month and a half and I'm scrambling to get in tip top shape and gathering my gear. I just hope the experience lives up to my dreams. I can't wait.

The fulfillment of your hunt is determined by the amount of effort you put into it  >>>---->

Tom,

The experience will be as good as you make it. Go out there and just enjoy the hunt no matter if an elk is killed or not.

I experienced my dream hunt in 1989 for mule deer in Colorado, you will remember this hunt for a lifetime.

Man thats great!! I too dream of getting beat up by the mountains and hearing some bugles. Hopefully like you, it happens someday. Definitely take pics and also bring some blunts for small game. Spruce grouse sound tasty!!
Just one more step please!

As a retired educator (funds are an issue) I have been fortunate to have been able to go to Labrador twice for caribou. I am lucky enough to be married to a woman who shares my passion and last year we teamed up on the local moose population with success. Each year for the past several we head to northern Maine for bear. Hopefully, before I get too old, we will  head West for elk, bison, antelope and mule deer. If I ever get there then I will have gotten my personal grand slam although I would dearly love to do a pig hunt and get a color phase black bear. Each time I am able to do something I thought was out of reach I am grateful and each success just adds to the feeling of gratitude. I hope your hunt is as meaningful and memory filled as mine have been. Good luck.
The best things in life....aren't things!
