What is the best nock Mercuey or the Classic? Haven't built any arrows in a long while. I used to use Mercury but have heard they are not as good as they were.

if using cedar or wood shafts, Duco is all I used works great, just ensure taper is correct.

Mercury changed owners some time back and they went thru some QA issues and I don't think they are currently in production.  There are still some of the good Mercurys floating around, tho.

The big difference is whether you prefer the straight throated Merc or the slight pinch of the Classic.  I prefer the Bohning Classics and use them on all the arrows I make unless someone requests differently.

I did prefer the Mercurys, but quality contol became so bad that I switched to Bohning Classics.  Would probably still use Mercurys if I could find any good ones.

LUCKY MAN

I would also consider the Bohning T-Nock, Kustom King has them.

Quality issues with Mercs have made them a poor choice.  Makes a vote for classics an easy choice. dino

Classics here too. I bored out my Bitz receiver to accept the index "hump" & all's well.
