Good Morning Everyone,
My wife and I are going to be in the central Michigan area next week and I was wondering what trad shops would be available that any of you know of? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks and have a great day.

WidowEater

the best i can help you with is Traditional Outdoor Supply in Sand Lake, just north of Grand Rapids
Silence over speed.  Heavier arrows never hurt.

Irish, you didn't mention where you'll be, but in Clare is Jay's Sporting goods. Not an archery specific store, but a very well stocked archery dept. with many recurves, longbows and accesories. If you have the time, and can get there, it would be worth checking out.

Jays in Gaylord has maybe half the stick bow stuff that Jays in Clare has and to be honest, the Clare location doesn't have all that much. Slim pickings on glue on broadheads, feathers, wood arrows and shafts, bows most guys would want to buy and most anything else you want. But if you want other outdoor things for hunting, fishing and camping it's not bad.

Thanks, the my Cabin is 15 miles from Jays and being new to Traditional this year I never paid any attention to their stock before! Probably the same stuff Cabelas sells! I think if I found a Traditional only shop I would be in heaven!!!!!!!

Thanks to all of you. That's a good start. Anyone have anything to add?

In Charlotte, just outside Lansing there is Thunderstick Archery, and there is Hunter's Niche (Predator/Phoenix Bows) in East Tawas, and a little further south is Belcher's Bows in Brighton.

Agree on Traditional Outdoor Supply in Sand Lake. In fact, I'm heading over there in about an hour! LOL
It's not a big store, but Tom has a lot of trad only stuff jammed in there and I stop in probably twice a month. Today I need a new bowstringer because my old one got knotted up, Masters of the Barebow II and maybe a tab and maybe some bow grip wraps.
Tom also has traditional blackpowder supplies, which aren't easy to find in most stores.
Here's the number for Traditional Outdoor Supply
616-636-2697
The address for mapquest is 53 E. Lake Street, Sand Lake, Mi. 49434

Tom is a super guy and if you're anywhere nearby, make sure to stop in.

Jays is also a great store, but on the other end of the spectrum. Jay's is a mega store, with 500 plus compounds, crossbows, boats, ATV's, etc. In fact, I think it's the largest non-chain/single owner hunting stores in the country. You can spend 6 hours at Jays. Jays is a great place to gun shop because the selection is huge.

Nothing against Jays at all, but Tom is unbeatable on trad archery knowledge. I'll end up chewing Tom's ear for an hour today. It's tough to do that in busy a super store, if you know what I mean.
