What is the best way to remove the heavy wax used to protect some tropical woods?  I have some that is close to dimensions and I don't want to cut off much wood.  Should I scrub it with a solvent.  This will be for risers in glass lam bows.  Thanks.
I didn't claw my way to the top of the food chain to eat vegetables!

Put a wick in it, light it, and have a romantic evening with your bride????

If you don't want to take off much wood you can hand sand it.  But it gums up the paper pretty quickly so you'll use alot of it!

I find tht gently warming it with a hairdryer & then scraping with an old credit card (or similar) works well, without damaging any ofthe wood.

I take thin slices off with a band saw.

I just use a scraper and scrape it off. Doesn't make a mess and you don't lose hardly any wood.
