Like these folks have shot a lot, Black widow is hard to beat, have 2 of them. That being said, I have a Quinn Archery, 60" #47@28, that is probably the smoothest shooting, fast, quiet bow I own. Has ligt, solid alum. riser, can get replacment limbs up to #60 for around $150, and they have one of the best track records in theIndustry on limb durability, For around $300!!

Quotethe best recurve in the area of value for money, biuld quality/ craftsmenship and back up sevice ie [ if i want a second set of limbs latter down the track
I've shot quite a few high end bows and own a Blacktail they are all good but you asked about value for the money. Take a look at Checkmate, they are a very nice bow and are custom built and won't put you in the poor house.
Time is a great teacher, but unfortunately it kills all its pupils.

RER are hard to beat. Kevin and Sue make a great bow and have excellent customer service.
Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside thoroughly used up, totally worn out, with bible in hand and loudly proclaim...WOW...What a Ride!!!

I have to agree with MikeW, Check Mate makes a great custom bow for the money. The 56" take down hunter II is a sweet little bow. All for under $400.00

Black Widow for me.  Super fast and smooth shooters.  Getting extra limbs is not a problem.
I have never been lost, but I will admit to being confused for several weeks.

Black Widow, Morrison, etc. Its a personal choice. Buy used off TradGang classifieds. Save a bunch of money and have a top of the line bow as well. I've never been unhappy going this route. Do your homework and you won't either.

I have a friend who shoots the ugliest, nastiest ol' Dan Quillian recurve bow you have ever seen- it needs a refinish in the worst possible way, it was ugly when it was brand new...the string is cheesy..in short, it ain't much..but in his hands its a Stradivarius.

he kills a L O T of stuff with that bow..and I've never heard one animal complain it wasn'tshot with a fancy pretty bow...

Love what you have, and learn to shoot it well..and it will be YOUR favorite bow.
