well a short tutorial that is, just want to show off a recent craft project... while all my buddies were at ATAR and it was pouring rain here i figured i would try covering this new boa quiver i just got.  i got all inspired by seeing folks like Guru do it on the ole tradgang so i broke out some old scrap leather, an old bow string to stitch it up with and a couple different types of glue.  i covered the top with a plastic bag and some tape and make a pattern (old moccassin makin' trick) and cut out the leather.

I've always had a kinship with the black bear and so found a navajo style drawing online that my highly talented wife was able to draw for me (in about 3 seconds) and i cut it out to use as a pattern as well.  most of the drawings in this style have what the call the heart line going through the animal symbolizing it's spiritual life, connection with the earth, journey to the heart etc...  and given my handle here on the ole tradgang i had to make it green.  the heart line does look like an arrow...

i didn't have anything dark to stitch it together with (an neither did my neighbor who is my archery consultant  :)  so i found an old bowstring that was shot and it worked like a charm.

so i got a little black bear medicine and some green arrow coming with me into the woods, and new quiver.  couldn't have done it with out the tradgang!

here it is strapped to the great northern ready to go.

enjoy the day,
Kyle

Ah-ha!  I have a boa just like that as well as some green wool I wanted to put on it.  But I couldn't figure out how to get the pattern correct.
Thanks!
