I have been shooting recurves for about 20 years now and believe it or not, I have never shot a longbow until today.  I traded off one of my Morrison's for a 56" 56# @ 27" Timberghost TD longbow.  This is a very nice bow.  The 56 pounds at my draw lenght is lighter then I normally shoot.  Not a quick as my Cheyenne or the Borders, but shots a 625 grain arrow pretty good.  No hand shock and it is super quiet.

Braced the bow at 7-1/2", can someone tell me if this is correct for this bow.

That sounds like a good starting point for brace height. I actually shot that bow @ 7 1/4. I'm glad you like the bow.

were you as accurate with it, compared to your recurves?

Thanks Jake I will try 7 1/4.  I like my brace height as low as I can get it, as long as the bow is quiet.  Should help with the arrow tuning a little also, as my 2020 are just a little stiff.

Frassettor - I can not say I was more accurate.  But I am sure after I shot it a bit I will be just as accurate with it as I am with my other bows.  This was our first date and we are still getting to know each other.

Do you hunt in Chile? The longbows are very quiet. Thats why I like them. Its amazing how quiet a good one can be.

That's about where I settled on my TimberGhost longbow to keep it quiet. Keep reducing the brace height until you notice it getting louder if you prefer a lower brace height. It might even pick up some speed and match your arrow spine. Your transition should be pretty mello considering that the riser is pretty much the same as a recurve. Now, go and get a Howard Hill longbow and see if you feel a difference!
