Currently shooting a #50 Habu Death Adder longbow. Really digging it but, we'll. You can't have just one bow. Never been much of a recurve guy, shot an old Browning Cobra when I was stationed at Ft. Knox for a couple seasons, other than that been a reflex/deflex longbow shooter. Two 21st Centuries and a few Scorchers.

Wanting a recurve of about 58 or 60 inches at about #55. Trying to chunk a carbon 340 of 600 grains or so at 170 to 175 if that's possible. Kinda wanting to go semi fancy but keep my price tag between $1,200 and $1,800; could stretch to $2,000 for the right stick. Might be willing to go used too; again it'd have to speak to me.
Looking around the internet I don't see the number of bowlers there used to be. What the heck is out there anymore?

Thanks for reading,
Bones

A Dan Toelke Chinook will do that on the lower end of your price range and you wont find a more flawlessly built or quieter recurve either.

Kirkll

Welcome to trad Gang Bones!  My name is Kirk, and I would like to introduce you to Big Foot Bows. I started building bows about 20 years ago, live in Oregon, and believe I have a very nice static tip RC I can build in 58-60" called the "Sasquatch SS". These have proven to be very high in performance and can be custom built as fancy as you would like.  Please take a look at my website, and read some of the testimonials. I offer several different designs that use the same high performance limb design.

Here is one I built for Terry Green this last year.  The link below connects to the complete build album.

My wait time is about 120 days right now.

I have been looking for new to me equipment for some time without luck.  A Morrison Phoenix riser in 19" or 21", and Border Covert Hunter.  So far I have been able to save the money....
I am also interested in a longbow, as I never found one that fits my hand.
Like me, you probably hit the classifieds in various forums each day, just in case.
Keep looking and you will find something for you tastes.
Super Curves.....
Covert Hunter Hex9h
Morrison Max 6 ILF
Mountain Muffler strings to keep them quiet
Shoot as much weight as you can with accuracy
