Is this starting to splinter? Kinda hard to see but I can feel it.

Pat B

Looks like it. You can super glue it then add a wrap to hold the splinter down.

Thanks Pat, what kind of wrap? I used sinew on one years ago but that was pretty bad.

Pat B

I've used sinew but it is hard to do a nice job of it. It will hold but not necessarily aesthetically pleasant. Thin silk thread or other low stretch thread is the best way and you can use a color that contrasts or enhances the look. I usually add another to the other limb to keep things equal.
Saturate the thread in glue to keep it from unraveling. Super glue or TBIII works well for this.

Finished wrapping the nodes on the BBO. Yes, they're kinda sloppy lookin. Any kind of sealer to put on top of the sinew?

Pat B

You can seal it with whatever your bow is finished with. I've also used super glue and also TBIII.
