I was gifted this I believe it to be around 1962 or so. How old is it and what kind of string should I put on it? Feel like it's the original string.

1962 cubs had a leather wrap and green glass on the back.

I was just going by what the guy that gave it to me said. He got it as a graduation gift when he was in high school and he was class of 1962 so it is really just my estimate.
