Who all is elk hunting this year? Something I've always wanted to do. Really enjoy reading elk hunting stories on here.

I sure would have liked to but the draw was not friendly to me this year. Next year should be a different story!

I typically hunt elk, living in elk country, but not this year due to a torn rotator cuff. Next year, hopefully.

My son I and hunted SW Colorado last week. We had a great time, but came home empty handed.

Oh, how I wish....Injuries forced me to turn a tag back in I drew in Colorado back in July.
There is next year, and hopefully will draw NM or WY. MT is two years out. Utah and Colorado are always easy to get in on. Been three times. Never shot one. Saw enough of them last bow season but could never could close the gap.
Still no clue what I am doing, but it's the most fun frustrating difficult challenge. I went with wife once, then by myself in 24 and 25. Pretty open to any season dates. Depending on the state, the unit and the level of hunting pressure, I am open to any selection of take (bow, rifle, muzzleloader).

Burnside, where in SW Colorado did you and your son hunt. I went out in 2006 and again in 2010 to the San Juan Mountains due north of Durango.

We were NNW of Durango - North of Dolores, CO - we were in the Black Mesa, Stoner/Taylor Mesa area. Just South of Lizard Head.

Just got back from my 14th elk hunt with my brother and unpunched tags (DIY and public).  This year was in Panhandle of Idaho.  Was a challenge to get into the elk but my brother and I each had opportunities, but I didn't launch an arrow at an elk.  It was a great adventure though.
