Kenny..the profile of that bow looks strangely familiar!  I can understand you having a hard time switching bows... :biglaugh:

My first trad kill in many years. I'm mostly a longbow guy, but this recurve belonged to my best friend who passed away a few years ago. It's a 45#, vintage, Bear Kodiak Hunter that is nearly as old as I am. It has been awhile since I did the research, but I believe I narrowed it down to being made between '69-'71.

So happy to finally participate in this thread!  1950's/60's Paul Bunyan fiberglass recurve.  40@29[attachment=1][attachment=2][attachment=3]

Here is another from my Paul Bunyan that is 40 pounds at 29 inches. The picture is with a different bow because I shot this Hall at night and recovered it early in the morning and had decided to hunt that day with my sticker.[attachment=1]

  I'm just a few pounds out of this range,  but I love seeing this thread.  Bow's in this range get it done no issues no questions whatsoever. I have a soft spot for 48# specifically.  I can shoot it all day, everyday and not tax my body.  I can hold for extended periods if necessary and the draw is still easy and smooth if I'm bulked up with cold weather clothing,  or if my body is cold from the blood not moving. Looking forward to this year's harvest pics with the 40 pounders,  hope we get lots of em here!  :campfire:
