I just wanted again to thank everyone who took the time to comment on my thread. I've just gotten back home from a 30 hour straight drive from Minitonas MB to Central MS. I'm a wee bit tired so I won't be up long. :goldtooth:  Just wanted to say thanks!

Dandy bear! Is Parker still hanging around guiding?  Well he'd likely be at the main camp not the BandB.

Ryan, our guides for the B&B was Mike and Cal. Mike is a part owner of Stickflingers as of the last two or three years.

I've made a couple of trips to Stickflingers but have never hunted the other (archery only) camp. If I ever go back, I want to try the other camp... if for no other reason than to say I've been to both camps.

I haven't met the guide you mentioned, but I've yet to met anyone with the Stickflingers organization that hasn't been great people!

I have hunted the archery only camp 6 times.  Parker is still around.  He was my guide last year.

Congratulations on a great bear. I killed one up there a few years ago and Parker was my guide. He works hard for the clients in camp.

Thanks for the very well written summary of your hunt and congratulations on a nice bear! I've never hunted bear over bait but hope to take two grandsons this fall or next spring. Told them if they shoot their bows daily until this fall or next spring I'll take them bear hunting and it ignited a spark in both of them. Then, one of their sisters asked if she could go bear hunting so I bought her a bow at the recent S.T. A. R. shoot here in VA and she's likewise newly motivated. Gonna have to recruit a couple buddies to accompany them as most states/provinces require adult accompaniment for under 16 hunters.

Holding out for leftover MT elk tags to be determined in a few weeks or would've already booked a Maine or Canada hunt. Stickflingers results are impressive to say the least.

I appreciate the comments! Stickflingers has two different camps and I have went a couple of times to the one in Minitonas. You stay at a B&B which might be good for the grandchildren if they are younger in age.(Satellite TV, pool tables, hot showers etc, etc) I don't think you can go wrong with Stickflingers... regardless of the camp you choose if you decide to go.
