OK, for you guys coming from the south, take Rt. 31 north through Oxford. Make a right onto Pequest Rd. The range is about 3 miles back on the left.

For you guys coming from the north, take rt. 46. If you're going east on 46 (Jerry, Vaughn...), make a right onto Pequest Furnace Rd. When you get to the end, make a left on to Pequest Rd. Go about 1.5 miles - the range will be on the left.

The archery range is just past the back entrance to the trout hatchery. If you come to a stop sign at Jane's Chapel Rd, you went too far.

Tom, if you want to try a REALLY light longbow, Lee will have his Black Rhino there...35# @ 28.

Guys bring the cameras and post pictures for those unfortunate folks who will be there in spirit!

fyrfyter43

I'll be bringing the camera.

I just filled a cooler up with a case of water for everybody.

Gwyn and I had a nice time shooting with the few that showed. Vaughn, Pat,Tom Eric, Sal, Lee. The 3-D course was a bit thick and brushy, but made it more like a real hunting experience. I don't know how many arrows were lost, but I don't think it was many.  There was an Iron Deer target that was a proving ground for how tough our arrows were, or were not    :banghead: . It was darn humid, but luckily the sun was not out cooking us. The rain held off until we were done.  The many Raspberries that lined the trails were a nice refreshment especially for Gwyn. We took some strange looks from the compound shooters that filtered through now and then.  They probably never saw so many stick bows at once     . Though the course was short and we only shot a couple of hours, it was great to be amongst friends with the stick and string. I'm sure the others have some picks to post. My camera was dead this morning.

Yup it was a good time although way too short. No real challenging shots on the course even though a few of us made it look that way   :readit:   Hopefully Eric will post some of the pics he took.

Tom, you forgot to remind me about the tree seat thing, I had it in the back of my wagon    :banghead:

I do have a few pics, but no time to post them tonight (4 am comes way too early!). I'll get them up tomorrow after work.

We sure did make some of those shots seem pretty tough, even though none of them really were.

Even Keith (the guy who set up the course this morning) couldn't believe that we were going to have so many stickbows there today.

Had a great time. Jerry gave me a great looking basket quiver, that can be used like a back quiver or a plains quiver. I was shooting my self made self bow & flinging 60-65# ash arrows that eric don't need since he is now using carbons.

I did way to many misses, but I was up since Saturday morning at 5:00 am. I took a nap around 3:00 p.m. then up at 5:00 p.m.. I agree the course was way short, but this is a free 3-D course and the NJ F&G set it up... May hats off to them.

We talked about a fall group hunt, I said we could do it behind the Owl's nest. It is also a check in Station. This spot you could walk in around Sun up and be able to tag a deer coming up from the corn fields.

Vaughn, That was a nice looking bow You had.

Pat, Lost an arrow shooting it from the area we parked at  out past 200 yards easy in to the woods, You may ask Why would he do that for. Well, it was all me... I shoot a 60-65 a good 100 yards from my red oak pyramid bow 51#@24" darted them arrows nicely.

Gwyn had the koolest looking basket quiver. It has 2 areas that looked like rope and nice color strains in the middle.

We had a great time even though it was short. Hey Guys sorry about not meeting up at the diner...I was dead & Eric & Lee add other engagements,

pdk25

*!@$ vortex and long draw length.  I was even aiming pretty steeply into the sky.

Deadbolt

Heya guys had a blast yesterday!

Vaughn bro thanks for lunch again!  And I totally forgot about the friggin seat...once we start BS'ing my brain goes elsewhere...I think saturday night was still hittin me pretty hard LOL.  Once I get a free chance we will do some yote hunting in the special "willow hill seaon" LOL.

Jerry thanks for letting me shoot your bow...it feels pretty kewl to shoot a long bow and on the ride home with Pat I managed to trade one of my recurves for a new longbow LOL so soon enough I wont be the only recurve shooter in the group LOL.  Oh and your lil one is to cute man I had a blast just watching her out there fling arrows and raise hell LOL.  Its great to see kids enjoying the sport!

Eric and Lee thanks for setting all this up it was a ton of fun and we need to all get together and shoot again!  Maybe we can all get together and hit up a 3D or something where we will have more targets.  And Lee is doing pretty good...can't wait to see his new cedars!

Sal always a pleasure to bust your chops and fling some arras!  Your getting to be one with the bow man LOL!  Some awsome bows your producing.

All in all a great day...I shot decent with my new carbons...gonna take some gettin use to with em but I think I'll be A O K come september!

Jerry Jeffer

Tom, gotta count me in on that yote huntin'. I'll be glad to be at least a caller for ya. The kid is a handfull. She likes to be her own person ya know. I just let her go for it just like my folks did for me. Hope to see you shootin' a stick soon. One last thing.... gotta get some of those ADs.
I will give thanks to the LORD because of his righteousness and will sing praise to the name of the LORD Most High.
