Well after returning back to Alaska from my freshman year in college. I decided that I would enjoy getting out after an early summer blackie. Instead of heading south I reluctantly filled up my bronco and went directly north. Up past the roaring crowds of parks highway king salmon anglers there lies some avalanch slides that never lose their snow. They are my newly found hot spots for black bears ( moose too! ). Just a few miles off the road but thats sadly further than Alaska's average "hunter" will walk on foot. Well, the three times I have been back to my new little spot. I have seen sign and a few smaller bears. I have yet to even think about dropping the string on a bear yet. I have not seen anything with much size so far.

Other than the few  times I have been out looking for bears. I have taken my canoe out and been doing a lot of fishing for lakers. I am about to buy myself a map of a river that I can float down and maybee see a bear or find a promising area to spot and stalk.

Oh yeah! I will be in Eugene Oregon around september 15th or 20th to hunt deer and elk with one of my good friends. If any of you trad gangers want to get togather and fling a few arrows let me know!

Yuppers! Pics will be coming very shortly. I used to live in New Jersey myself. Right outside of McGuire AFB. Lots and lots of deer there.

I just moved back to Idaho from Alaska last year,  and I tell ya, there are a lot of blackies up there.  A friend and I hiked in to an area near Anchorage once and saw over 30 in 2 days.  Not to mention the sheep and goats!  It is like deer hunting for bears.
