You really haven't hunted the old fashion way until you've done it from one of these Indian houses.(The Tipi) "Glenn ST. Charles"

I love that picture!  And being in Wisconsin, thats a pretty big trip down to NM!  congrats.

Joe, That is the Monarch Grunt tube from Buglin Bulls Game calls (rocky Jacobson)sans the external reed.  I use that one and a couple I've made out of whiffle ball bats and primos grunt tubes.  Diaphragm reeds are the way to go as far as bugling goes, none of the external reed calls can match them. They also are great for cow sounds, though I like to carry a couple reeded calls for that too.  Some guys can use their voice, I've tried but cant, except for on short pants/huffs and moans.  My preferences, its what works for me!

Thanks again everyone.

You see that patch of blue sky between Whip's hat and the antler?  We had to pack that guy up there just to get to the cliff edge BEFORE the 2+ mile hike back to the truck.

Good luck Joe, shoot one next to the trail this time! I'll be about 100 miles south of you this year. Meet you in Unit 52 next year...

Elkbreath, what did the antler tips on that bull you shot look like up close?  Were they broken or some kind of growth defect?
Ishi was a Californian

yeah, it was like growin season ended too soon for him, top tips were still round.  Odd bull.

Thanks Tracy - yeah that smile was way too big.  Made the elk look smaller

Good luck Norb.  I will have to spend at least one day back in that spot, but it sure would be nice to get lucky closer to the truck!

In the end, it is not the years in your life that count. It's the life in your years. Abraham Lincoln.
